What are we looking for in our Senior Engineer (System Planning)?
Location: Pomona CA (Hybrid in the office Wed and Thurs)
Duration: 12 Months Plus
Pay Range: $30/hr -$37/hr on W2 (DOE)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities/Workload
Transmission Strategy:
- Familiar with transmission/sub-transmission engineering, planning, maintenance, and policy
- Project management experience to lead initiatives, including assigning, monitoring, and delivering milestones
- Develop new methodologies and tools to perform scenario analysis and recommend ones that could enhance in-house transmission and sub-transmission planning process capabilities.
- Follow regulatory forecasting and planning processes driving California’s transition to carbon-free resources and electrification (CEC IEPR Demand Forecast, CPUC Integrated Resource Plan, and CAISO Transmission Planning Process) and inform upcoming transmission needs.
- Understand transmission development processes and recommend improvements
- Collaborate with SPE organizations through the hosting of working sessions
- Brief senior leadership and executives
Required Skills/Attributes
- Transmission / Sub transmission System Planning
- Previous utility system planning experience
- 10+ years of system planning experience
- Ability to conduct system planning analysis leading to the identification of needs and mitigations
- PSLF
- Ability to distill technical information for executive level presentations and updates
Education Requirement
- Bachelor's Degree
