Extrusion Technician Full Time

Summary: As an Extrusion Machine Operator on the 3rd shift, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of extrusion machinery. Your responsibilities include inspecting parts, updating logs and files, and maintaining the quality of the finished product. This position involves starting up, running, adjusting, and troubleshooting extrusion products to meet production standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Machine Operation and Maintenance:

   • Start, inspect, test, adjust, and suggest repairs to extruder, winder, die heads, hopper loader, color feeder, cutting equipment, and tape machine.
   • Perform minor repairs as qualified.

2. Quality Control:

   • Conduct inspections and compare products to Quality Control Standards.
   • Perform daily layered audits to ensure quality standards are met.

3. Production Coordination:

   • Help coordinate production/labor to maintain a consistent department workflow.

4. Packaging and Labeling:

   • Take responsibility for product packaging, labeling, and date-coding.

5. Tooling Changes and Cleaning:

   • Manage head, die, and other tooling changes/cleaning.

6. Servicing and Maintenance:

   • Conduct minor servicing of equipment and maintain the work area in a neat and orderly fashion.

7. New Product Manufacturing:

   • Manufacture experimental and new products, updating processing parameters in the electronic database.

8. Environmental Compliance:

   • Adhere to the company’s Environmental Policy Manual, follow work instructions, and report any environmental nonconformance to supervision or management.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or technical school; or at least 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of extrusion experience

Rate/Salary: 45,000-55,000/year
